JOB SUMMARY

The manufacturing engineer is responsible for establishing and improving manufacturing methods, providing support to manufacturing departments, and improving quality and reducing costs in manufacturing.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.


  • Process Design and Implementation to ensure Productions goals are being met 
  • Design using SolidWorks and produce tooling and fixtures for manufacturing testing
  • Utilize CAD/CAM package
  • Establish and define processes, provide setup information, and process information
  • Detail tooling lists
  • Quality Control evaluation and recommendation for improvements 
  • Cost analysis by reviewing and calculating labor, material, costs.  
  • Provide Production timelines and help make informed decisions regarding Production requirements.
  • Support problem solving for manufacturing operations
  • Create product routings, manufacturing methods, quality forms, and operation process sketches as necessary
  • Provide continuous manufacturing and cost improvements
  • Implement process control techniques
  • Purchase and facilitate supplies necessary for manufacturing
  • Investigate or resolve operational problems, such as material use variances or bottlenecks
  • Prepare documentation for new manufacturing processes or engineer processes
  • Provide technical expertise or support related to manufacturing
  • Ability to apply leadership skills for future department growth
  • Follow safety rules and keep clean/ orderly work area
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering (or similar areas of study)
  • 2 years in a related field
  • Experience using SolidWorks and CAD programs

Or

  • Minimum of 3 years of engineering experience or manufacturing technician

  • Knowledge of SolidWorks
  • Knowledge of machining and the machining industry
  • Basic understanding of quality principles and inspection techniques
