Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Control Panel Construction Technician to build industrial control panels in accordance with H2K Technologies schematics while adhering to UL508A procedures and standards. This role is at our panel construction facility, with limited field service and startup support (typically fewer than 3-4 trips per year).
This position requires strong attention to detail, electrical knowledge, and pride in clean, code compliant workmanship. This role offers a clear growth path for motivated individuals who wish to expand their skills into controls design, PLC programming, and system integration.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:Panel Construction (Primary Responsibility)
  • Assemble industrial control panels per H2K electrical schematics and layouts
  • Layout back panels and enclosures for optimal component placement and wire routing
  • Mount components including PLCs, drives, power supplies, relays, breakers, terminal blocks, and HMIs
  • Perform point-to-point wiring per schematic
  • Label wires and components per UL508A and company standards
  • Drill, tap, cut, and modify enclosures as needed
  • Verify torque specs and maintain documentation
  • Perform quality checks and continuity testing
  • Support UL508A inspection requirements and documentation
Standards & Compliance
  • Build panels in accordance with UL508A requirements
  • Follow NEC and applicable local codes
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship, labeling, and documentation
  • Ensure all panels pass internal QC prior to shipment
Limited Field Service & Startup Support (Less than 3-4 Trips/Year)
  • Assist with onsite panel startups and commissioning
  • Support troubleshooting of control systems
  • Make minor wiring or programming adjustments under engineering direction
  • Interface professionally with customers during service calls
  • Provide clear documentation of field modifications
  • All other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • 2+ years’ experience building industrial control panels, or
  • A 2-year technical degree in Electrical/Process Control Technology, Mechatronics, or related field
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics – AutoCAD experience a plus
  • Working knowledge of UL508A requirements
  • Strong understanding of industrial control components

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work standing all day on a shop floor.
  • Ability to utilize full manual dexterity (i.e. sitting, squatting, bending, kneeling, lifting, walking, manipulating tools with limbs extended).

Compensation and Benefits:

Base Pay Range:  $24 to $27 per hour based on skills and experience

Other Compensation:  Overtime Eligibility for 1 ½ times per hour
