Job description

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Solid Waste Engineer to join our collaborative and dynamic engineering consulting team. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of solid waste infrastructure projects from concept through construction and operations. You will support both public and private sector clients in planning, design, permitting, construction-phase services, and ongoing operational support.

Responsibilities

As part of an interdisciplinary team, you will:

  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to meet project and program goals.

  • Support evaluations and feasibility studies for solid waste and organics management programs and facilities.

  • Plan, design, permit, and support construction of facilities such as:

    • Landfill cells and closures

    • Landfill gas management and reuse systems

    • Composting facilities

    • Transfer stations

    • Convenience centers

    • Integrated facility campuses

  • Provide operational support for solid waste programs and infrastructure.

  • Assist with other environmental and civil engineering projects as needed.

  • Local travel to job sites on occasion 

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) actively working toward licensure.

  • Minimum 10 years of environmental infrastructure design experience, with a focus on solid waste, landfill, and organics management facilities.

  • Preferred: Experience with construction-phase services.
