Solar Site Manager - Operations & Maintenance

Spark Power, a trusted energy partner across North America, is currently seeking a Solar Site Manager to join our growing team

As a Solar Site Manager, you will oversee the maintenance and operation of a utility-scale solar facility. You will be responsible for leading site-level safety initiatives, supervising field technicians, ensuring operational uptime, and executing both electrical and mechanical tasks in alignment with internal standards and industry best practices.

What you'll be doing as a Solar Site Manager:

  • Follow all Health and Safety policies to maintain a zero-incident workplace
  • Lead and enforce a zero-incident safety culture by following all Spark Power and customer Health & Safety policies.
  • Conduct daily tailgate meetings, complete hazard assessments, and secure necessary electrical work permits.
  • Perform technical troubleshooting, corrective actions, and preventative maintenance to optimize system performance.
  • Execute proper energization and de-energization procedures.
  • Implement, oversee, and inspect LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures.
  • Read and interpret schematics, SLDs, and electrical blueprints.
  • Complete QA/QC inspections and document deficiencies or required corrective actions.
  • Ensure maintenance complies with OEM specifications and recognized standards (e.g., NETA MTS, CSA Z463, NFPA 70E).
  • Submit daily digital reports detailing all work performed, issues found, and resolutions.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas including buildings, roads, vegetation, fences, and spare parts inventory.
  • Supervise and support a team of technicians to ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and to standard.
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule for weekend and emergency support.
  • Provide feedback and contribute to the continuous improvement of procedures and site operations.

Do you have the Spark? Here's what we're looking for:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in an electrical or mechanical field is an asset.
  • Journeyman Electrician License (state-certified) is a strong asset.
  • Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in adverse weather conditions.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience.
  • Proficiency in using mobile apps and digital tools (Microsoft Office Suite, CMMS, reporting tools).
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and commitment to safety.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with a team-oriented mindset.
