Job Title: General Laborer – Solar Electrical Installation
Job Description

This role focuses on the installation, maintenance, and repair of solar energy systems in a solar field environment. You will support licensed electricians by wiring solar panels, connecting high‑voltage equipment, and ensuring solar systems operate safely and efficiently. The position involves working from electrical schematics and blueprints, using basic hand and power tools, and performing hands-on tasks on an active construction site.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair solar energy systems in a solar field setting under the guidance of experienced electricians.
  • Follow electrical schematics, diagrams, and blueprints to correctly wire and connect solar panels and related components.
  • Connect solar panels, inverters, and other high‑voltage equipment to the power grid in accordance with safety and quality standards.
  • Replace and install MC4 connectors, ensuring secure and reliable electrical connections across solar arrays.
  • Rewire existing solar panels and assist with installing new panels as needed to maintain system performance.
  • Run and pull electrical wire and cable throughout the site, including routing through conduits, racking, and other infrastructure.
  • Assist with wiring panels and racking systems, ensuring neat, organized, and code‑compliant installations.
  • Use multimeters and other test equipment to perform checks on operating voltages, grounding systems, and circuit continuity.
  • Verify that all systems are safe, functional, and performing within acceptable limits by conducting basic tests and inspections.
  • Use basic tools safely and effectively while following detailed instructions from supervisors and electricians.

The environment is safety‑focused and fast‑paced, requiring adherence to site rules, use of appropriate personal protective equipment, and readiness to work around heavy equipment and other trades on site.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $33.00/hr.
