Oxbow Energy Solutions LLC is currently looking for a Diesel Maintenance Mechanic to join the team in Texas City, Texas. Diesel Mechanic job duties will include repairs, modifications, and installations to the needs of the terminal. Responsibility for the maintenance of equipment and facilities to insure maximum contribution to the safety, quality, and productivity of the terminal. Some of the equipment a Mechanic will be working on will be Dozers, Front End Loaders, Conveyor Systems, Pumps
Essential Job Duties
  • Performs maintenance and major repairs on heavy-duty mobile equipment. This may include mobile cranes, front-end loaders, conveyors, bulldozers, compressors, generators, all-terrain vehicles, trucks, forklifts, tractors, and accessory equipment.
  • Removes and disassembles engines and major assemblies, sub-assemblies, and components. Makes the appropriate repairs, overhaul, or modifications in accordance with the proper repair specifications and procedures.
  • Troubleshoots equipment and diagnoses the cause of failures by means of visual and auditory checks and/or uses test equipment, ohmmeters, pressure gauges, and computer diagnostic tools.
  • Conducts readiness and repair inspections on vehicles and associated equipment supported by the facility.
  • Performs operational inspections and ensures vehicles and equipment are properly serviced, including adjustments, replacing hydraulic fluids, greasing, cleaning, etc., and performs other preventive maintenance operations as required. Inspects supported equipment prior to use, to ensure that it is functioning properly.
  • Independently performs repairs and maintenance functions various facility locations that can be accomplished by removing, cleaning, reinstalling, or replacing defective parts of components and systems such as mechanical, electrical (AC/DC), hydraulic, and pneumatic.
  • Basic operation of all mobile equipment required on the job for material or parts placement.
  • Ensures that the work areas, equipment, and work practices are in compliance with the regulatory codes, statutes, and company requirements.
  • Assists in the development of written safety procedures prepared for job performed in the maintenance department (Daily Safe Work Permits / JSAs).
  • Performs work in a highly functional and consistent manner that meets the job specifications.
  • Make recommendations whenever possible regarding potential improvements in operation or maintenance of plant facilities.
  • Ensures compliance with safety, personnel, attendance and other facility procedures or guidelines
  • Other types of tasks involving the maintenance, modification, and installation of equipment and facilities.
  • Always maintain a clean and organized work area, clean up work area after job completion.
  • All other duties as assigned
  • Successful candidate will be trained on various maintenance function in the plant such as welding, electrical, general maintenance, conveyor repairs, pipefitting work, etc.as needed

Requirements
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma required.
  • Certification in related fields preferred
  • Four years of diesel mechanic experience within the heavy industry preferred
  • Automotive Repair experience preferred
  • Experience maintaining, repairing and rebuilding mobile equipment

Physical and Other Requirements
  • Typically works in plant environment, which may include extreme working conditions and inclement weather conditions.
  • As needed, lifts, carries or otherwise moves and positions objects weighing up to 100 pounds.
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces and in elevated work areas.
  • Must be able to handle working with petroleum coke products.
  • Must be able to work with wrenches, pipe wrenches and other tools; requires turning and tightening nuts and bolts.
  • Must be able to load and unload heavy equipment, either with manual labor or by operating heavy machinery.
  • Must train in safety requirements at the facility.
  • Must be able to move about to coordinate work.
  • Ability to communicate or exchange ideas by means of verbal or written word to impart information to clients or to the public and to convey detailed Instructions to other workers.
  • Work will require weekend and night shifts periodically
  • Must possess a valid US Driver's License.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a Transportation Worker's Identification Credential (TWIC)
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening
  • Must be able to pass general physical testing.
