Job description

Job Overview:
Primoris Pipeline has several new projects on the horizon, and we are currently searching for a Crew Chief with a background in oil and gas surveying. Ideal candidate will be comfortable both leading/guiding a small team, as well as working individually when necessary. 10+ years of Crew Chief experience and expert-level knowledge of Trimble robotics required. Responsibilities will include leading a two or three-man crew to execute prelim corridor surveys, construction staking, as-built, boundary, title, and topographic surveys. Will be responsible daily for the guidance and training of crew members. Maybe required to work as a one-man crew at times alongside our construction team.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Various types of construction stakeout projects.
  • Topographic surveys.
  • Performs mathematical calculations for field checking data.
  • Take accurate and clear notes in the field.
  • Read and understands engineering drawings.
  • Know basic sources of measurement errors.
  • Know principles of monumentation, staking and marking.
  • Responsible for quality and performance of survey crew.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of all Company equipment.
  • Self-motivated and organized with good decision-making skills.
  • Accurate completion of time and expenses.
  • Responsible for submitting data and notes daily.
  • Responsible for meeting with clients and public landowners as required in a professional manner.
  • Flexible and adaptable to change.

Required Qualifications:
  • Ten+ years of oil & gas survey experience required.
  • Solar experience is a plus
  • Knowledge in use of GPS, total station, and electronic data collectors.
  • Expert-level knowledge of Trimble robotics.
  • Laser scanning and drone experience is a plus.
  • Safety conscience is a must.
  • Physical labors are a part of this job so the ability to bend, stoop, reach and lift 75 lbs is required.
  • Honest, Dependable, Thorough and Strong Work Ethic.
  • Must be self-driven with little or no supervision.
  • Must have current and valid driver's license.
  • TWIC card is a plus but not required.
  • Job is subject to extreme weather conditions and travel across the US.
