Job description

Why this role?

If you enjoy working in the field, solving real-world problems, and being hands-on with solar projectsโ€”this role is for you.

  • Conduct on-site surveys for residential solar projects
  • Capture photos of roofs, surroundings, and electrical panels
  • Evaluate roof condition (materials, structure, viability)
  • Assess shading (trees, positioning, height, sun exposure)
  • Inspect electrical panels and identify system readiness
  • Take accurate measurements (roof size, angles, mounting space)
  • Identify potential risks or installation challenges
  • Document findings and share clear reports with engineering
  • Occasionally support service-related visits

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ What you bring

  • 5+ years of experience in solar, roofing, construction, or field work
  • Basic knowledge of residential electrical systems
  • Understanding of roof structures and solar installations
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset
  • Comfortable working at heights and in outdoor environments
  • Ability to work independently and manage your day

๐Ÿ”ง Tools youโ€™ll use

  • Measuring tape
  • Digital angle finder
  • Impact driver
  • Roofing tools (e.g., pry bars)

๐Ÿš— What to expect

  • Travel within a ~2-hour radius
  • 2โ€“4 site visits per day
  • Must have a vehicle capable of transporting a ladder
  • Work both on rooftops and ground-level inspections

โš ๏ธ Good to know

  • This is a field-based role (not office-based)
  • Youโ€™ll play a critical role in identifying issues before installation
  • You wonโ€™t make final engineering decisionsโ€”but your input is key

โœจ What makes you stand out

  • You notice what others miss
  • Youโ€™re comfortable making calls in the field
  • You take ownership and communicate clearly
