Job Title: Commercial Roofing Estimator

Position Overview: The Commercial Roofing Estimator is responsible for accurately calculating the labor, equipment, and material costs for roofing opportunities. This role involves verifying sales information, negotiating supplier pricing, and maintaining current market data to generate precise estimates and project documents. A key aspect of the position is conducting risk analysis on complex projects and collaborating on operational improvements while ensuring compliance with company processes.


Essential Functions:

  • Perform detailed estimates in all types of roofing systems, generating detailed reports for hours, materials, equipment and other supplies
  • Provide value engineering to ensure the optimal roofing system is selected to meet client needs
  • Thoroughly review project drawings and specifications, ensuring manufacturer warranty
  • Attend client meetings with sales staff to help diagnose roofing problems and discuss solutions
  • Maintain current market pricing for materials in estimating system
  • Negotiate with suppliers and manufacturers regarding pricing
  • Draft and compile complex project documents, manufacturer documents and submittals
  • Participate in pre and post bid meetings as applicable
  • Network and market company services to existing and potential clients
  • Complete risk analysis on complex projects
  • Generate job cost reports
  • Maintain compliance with company processes, contract terms and project requirements
  • Perform hand-off meetings to assigned project managers


    Required Skills and Abilities:

    • Maintain a valid driver's license in accordance with state laws and company driver policies
    • OSHA 10 Certification
    • Understanding of OSHA safety requirements and adherence to all work safety protocols
    • Computer Proficient in software programs: Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, The EDGE, and Pipedrive
    • Knowledge of commercial roofing systems, as well as industry codes and standards
    • Ability to read/interpret blueprints, submittals, drawing plans, and product specifications
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
    • People-oriented -- enjoys interacting with people
    • Time Management--great time management; able to prioritize and meet deadlines
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    • Pass initial drug test and participate in random drug test program
    • Primarily Indoor work environment
