EPC Operations Specialist

Location: Westmont, IL

Employment Type: Full-Time, Salaried

About the Company:

Join the growing Renewables Division at LiveWire Construction, Inc., a leader in commercial solar development. We deliver sustainable energy projects that meet the highest standards of quality, compliance, and client satisfaction. We're seeking a detail-oriented Solar EPC Operations Specialist to drive pre-construction projects from LNTP through the Notice to Proceed (NTP) and support estimating and bid development.

What You'll Do

EPC Operations - Estimating & Bidding:

  • Prepare competitive EPC bid packages; develop scope narratives, perform labor factor analysis, and evaluate project financials. Review subcontractor proposals and provide constructability and cost input to support proposal submissions and contract awards.
  • Ministerial Permitting: Prepare, submit, and track permit applications with applicable AHJs and government agencies; coordinate plan review responses, corrections, and approvals to maintain project schedules.
  • Design Coordination: Collaborate with engineers and designers to progress preliminary site plans and single-line diagrams through 100% IFC design; manage RFIs and submittals to ensure constructability and code compliance.
  • SREC Support: Assist the Professional Services team with Illinois Shines program tasks under 20-year REC Delivery Contracts.
  • State Licensing: Complete all state licensing certifications and renewals with the Illinois Commerce Commission, Illinois Power Agency, and other applicable agencies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

5+ years of experience in the commercial solar/renewables industry

Renewables estimating experience with proficiency in labor factor analysis and project financial evaluation

Strong knowledge of PV/DC system development and installation

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; advanced Excel skills; MS Project

Ability to read plans and specifications and solve problems independently

Willingness to work extended hours as project demands require


Preferred

Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, or related field

Computerized estimating software experience

Familiarity with permitting processes and AHJ coordination

Experience with Illinois Shines or similar state incentive programs

Knowledge of solar design software (CAD, SketchUp, PVsyst)
