We recognize the importance of developing products that do it better, smarter, and with a sense of urgency. With over fifteen years’ experience focusing exclusively on flat roof systems, we continue to transform the way flat roof PV is installed, helping our partners to accelerate the adoption of solar in the process.

Under Enstall's corporate umbrella, along with IronRidge, we are part of the largest rooftop solar mounting and racking hardware group in the U.S. This impressive portfolio of companies represents the perfect union of creativity and entrepreneurial vision.

What You'll Do

The Solar Designer’s primary role is to design solar PV mounting system layouts and to prepare project drawings and other customer-facing technical documents used during permitting and installation. This individual will discuss issues and strategies with other team members and departments as required to ensure the best customer experience possible. You will also be responsible for providing customer support through communication with customers, building officials, and internal departments, such as sales and engineering. Speed and accuracy in high pressure situations are critical. PanelClaw commits to quick turnaround times and error-free deliverables to our customers. A tenacious personality is a “must have” to meet the daily deadlines for project drawings.

  • Generate client-ready technical solar array drawings for commercial flat roofs.
  • Generate a variety of technical project documents, including wind loading and force analyses.
  • Maintain expert technical knowledge of all PanelClaw products and competitor products.
  • Manage and continuously improve internal Excel and AutoCAD design tools, templates, and processes.
  • Review internal and external design documents, providing feedback on design concepts, code compliance, and other factors to ensure a complete and accurate design package.
  • Interact directly with customers and sales regarding all technical needs related to PanelClaw's products, providing support throughout the entire permitting and installation process.
  • Identify and troubleshoot problems that arise in the field.
  • Communicate with customers daily to research, troubleshoot, and assist users within clawOS, PanelClaw’s cloud-based solar design and project management platform.
  • Collaborate with Technical Design, clawOS team members, and other functional teams (Tier 1 Support, Tier 2 Support, DevOps, Product Management, and Sales) to ensure user requests are handled in a timely manner.
  • Knowledge of local and regional utility and AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction) standards, processes, and requirements is preferred.

What You'll Bring

  • Two to five years related experience and/or training or bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university; or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Prior experience with support and communication platforms, including Jira Service Management, Microsoft Office 365 Suite (Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, Word), GoTo Meetings and Microsoft Teams.
  • Demonstrate empathy, resourcefulness, and drive
  • Patient and comfortable engaging with diverse clientele with varying levels of computer skills and technical knowledge
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Very high accuracy and attention to detail
  • Experience with AutoCAD required; familiarity with PVsyst, Helioscope, or other relevant design software a plus.
  • Fluent in math and geometry
  • Commitment to the mission of Enstall Group
  • Willingness to travel as needed

Where You'll Be Located

This is a hybrid position with two days per week in our office located in North Andover, MA.

What We’ll Offer

We offer competitive compensation determined by each individual's relevant experience, skills, education and location. This position is eligible for a base salary, plus bonus. We anticipate the total compensation for this position to be between $60,000 - $70,000 per year, in the Massachusetts market.
