What you will do
Role Overview:

The Operations Site Supervisor will oversee operations and maintenance activities of EDPR's wind power generation facilities and lead daily ownership representation.ย 

Main responsibilities:

- Manage all operations and maintenance activities for balance-of-plant (BOP) assets within established operating guidelines for projects 100 - 400 megawatts in sizeย 

- Interface with local communities to establish and maintain rapportย 

- Oversee the designated facilities' operations, maintenance-related contracts, and agreements for sites under warrantyย 

- Manage turbine operations and maintenance for sites off-warrantyย 

- Facilitate daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reporting in accordance with operational, safety, regulatory, and environmental performance requirementsย 

- Monitor each facility's performance in terms of comparison with expected results and key performance indicatorsย 

- Engage appropriate internal and external resources as performance issues may requireย 

- Represent the company locally before interconnection and customer entitiesย 

- Represent the company in landowner and community relationshipsย 

- Work closely with equipment suppliers and service entities as neededย 

- Monitor generating equipment for proper function, service, and repairsย 

- Identify and engage contractors for facilities' balance-of-plant maintenanceย 

- Ensure that on-site activities at each facility are conducted in a safety-conscious mannerย 

- Ensure that quality electronic communication is established and maintained at each facilityย 

- Monitor new facility construction and commissioning activitiesย 

- Ensure adherence to best practices and delivery of the optimal productย 

- Interface with Engineering, Accounting, and Development staff and other individuals, both internal and external, as neededย 
ย 

- Maximize performance and ensure value retention for each facilityย 

- Monitor contractor performance and ensure quality and adherence to the highest standards in work practicesย 

- Conduct and report on periodic meetings with contractors and partnersย 

- Ensure the reliability of the Bulk Electric Systemย 

- Ensure compliance with site environmental regulations pertaining to hazardous waste, oil spill prevention, avian studies, and wildlife conservationย 

- Additional duties as requiredย

What are we looking for
Minimum Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in a related field strongly preferredย 
  • 5 - 7 years of relevant experience, preferably in wind energyย 
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software and database applicationย 
  • Competency in Analytical Problem Solving, Strong Communication, Customer/Partner Relationships, and Technology Expertise. (Preferred).ย 
Travel:

Up to 10%

Behavioral Requirements:
  • Ability to quickly understand the basics of a variety of subjects relating to wind and solar energy including resource studies, environmental and cultural studies, transmission issues, public relations, public policy, sales, and civil and electrical engineeringย 
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skillsย 
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skillsย 
  • Understanding of basic financial principles (IRR, NPV, Depreciation, etc)ย 
  • High attention to detail and ability to multi-taskย

Physical demands & working conditions:
  • Sitting/Standing/Flexibility:?Ability to frequently perform physical tasks including standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching approximately 75% of the time while on wind farm sites; ability to stand and sit for 8 or more hours when in an office environmentย 
  • Walking:?Ability to walk .25 to .5 miles per day, including across unpaved and rough surfaces when on wind farm sites.ย 
  • Speech/Reading:??Ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently and deliver a variety of instructions furnished in written verbal, diagram, or scheduled formย 
  • Lifting:?Ability to frequently lift items weighing up to 10 pounds and to occasionally lift items weighing between 20 and 40 poundsย 
  • Climbing:ย 

- Ability to climb turbine towers in excess of 100 meters in height to access the work areaย 

- Weight must not exceed 275 pounds, excluding equipment/gear worn when performing job-related tasks, to be in accordance with the ANSI Fall Protection Standards.ย 

  • Vision/Hearing:?Ability to interpret and follow a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule formย 
  • Tolerance to Extreme Weather Conditions:?Ability to work in adverse weather conditions 25% of the time while on wind farm sitesย 
  • Safety:?Ability to understand and communicate safety precautions when necessaryย
