Solar Installers work with a variety of tools and must follow safety regulations throughout the installation process. They may also perform maintenance and troubleshooting on existing solar systems. This role is vital for expanding the use of renewable energy and reducing reliance on fossil fuels.

What does a solar installer do?

A Solar Installer, sometimes called a Solar Photovoltaic or PV Installer, is a professional who is skilled in the installation of solar energy systems. Solar Installers assess the needs of their clients and determine how many solar panels, what kind, and how many batteries are needed to meet the necessary energy output. Familiarity with hand and power tools, solar panel mounting systems, and sometimes completion of OSHA safety training are typically required. Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and effective teamwork help installers excel in diverse and often outdoor environments. These skills ensure the safe, efficient, and high-quality installation of solar systems, which is critical for customer satisfaction and workplace safety.
