Job description

Lead Inspection Technician

Responsibilities:
  • This role will require a deep understanding of residential solar installation best practices to confirm installers are adhering to our specified requirements
  • Review completed installations ensuring the project will pass final inspection
  • Meet with AHJ inspector and present the project in a professional manner by opening equipment, placing NEC stickers/placards, and complete unforeseeable minor punch list items that could result in a failed inspection
  • Perform basic troubleshooting functions on solar system
  • Clearly document technical corrections
  • Provide training and feedback to inspection technicians and internal team members
  • Develop positive working relationships with city inspectors

Qualifications:
  • 3 years of experience in residential solar and electrical
  • Technical abilities, including but not limited to, reading blueprints or plans, using tools and equipment, testing wiring or circuitry, NEC code and basic electrical theory knowledge
  • Knowledge of different building jurisdiction requirements
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to maintain a professional appearance and attitude
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to make recommendations and provide feedback as required
  • Ability to use software systems to record project specific milestones
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal direction/oversight
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Valid CA driver's license Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong time management skills and strong attention to detail
  • Strong commitment to a successful customer experience
  • Ability to prioritize work and work under sensitive time restraints
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time
  • Must be able to talk, listen, and speak clearly on telephone
  • Must be able to climb ladders and stairs regularly, and be comfortable with heights of at least 20 feet and walking on all roof types
  • Able to work in various weather conditions and in extreme temperatures
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly
