Job Description

The Director of Asset Management oversees commissioning, commercial operations, reliability and reporting compliance of Earthrise’s growing portfolio of solar assets, and within the broader ecosystem of the Company’s existing thermal plants. Working directly with our third-party asset managers and O&M providers, the Director of Asset Management will primarily be responsible for operations and asset management of our utility-scale solar farms including managing project agreements; budgeting; interfacing with owners, O&M providers, other service providers, landowners, agencies, and internal teams; and with a focus on contractual compliance and asset optimization. This newly created role has the unique opportunity to develop and implement systems and processes as our initial solar projects begin generation, and additional solar projects come online. This role will also have responsibilities pertaining to operating thermal assets.


Responsibilities
Technical Operations

  • Oversee daily operations of utility-scale solar assets, ensuring safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance across the portfolio.

  • Partner with solar O&M providers to ensure efficient site maintenance, and monitor and improve solar plant performance, leveraging SCADA and monitoring platforms to track real-time data and KPIs.

  • Own readiness for the commissioning and onboarding of new solar projects entering the operating fleet from construction to operations, ensuring documentation, testing, warranty initiation, and compliance requirements are complete.

  • Oversee site-level maintenance plans, asset health reviews, and performance optimization strategies for solar assets.

  • Responsible for asset management of third party thermal assets, including managing operations to ensure reliability, safety, and compliance with reporting and regulatory requirements.

  • Ensure AM applies energy dispatch best practices and also considers value and performance maximization strategies, particularly in relation to our thermal generation.


Financial and Reporting Compliance

  • Establish and maintain reporting standards across entire fleet (both thermal and solar): scheduled technical operating reports, periodic performance assessments, and budget/variance reporting for management and ownership.

  • Support technical audits, annual inspections, and NERC or environmental compliance as applicable.

  • Support the budgeting and forecasting activities for the entire operating fleet by providing key inputs and ensuring consistency with management objectives and risk confidence levels.

  • Ensure compliance across critical project agreements, including PPAs, REC contracts, O&M contracts, leases, etc.


Other General Responsibilities

  • Leverage analytics and AI tools to automate performance reporting, accelerate root-cause analysis, streamline contract and warranty review, and document recurring fixes and operating procedures.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with development, engineering, finance, legal, and compliance teams to align solar asset operations with business strategy.

  • Support insurance related activities for the fleet.


Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or financial discipline such as engineering, construction management, accounting; or, an equivalent degree and combination of experience is desired.

  • Minimum of ten years of utility-scale commercial, operations and project management experience, including robust solar and thermal experience as an asset manager.

  • Strong financial acumen, including P&L ownership, monthly budget-vs-actual and variance analysis, cost benchmarking, and building data-backed capital expenditure business cases.

  • Demonstrated use of data and analytics to improve operational outcomes such as availability, performance, and cost-to-resolution.

  • Direct experience negotiating and managing vendor and contract relationships, including O&M service agreements, warranties, and parts/service procurement, and KPI-based performance management.

  • Strong technical grounding across utility-scale PV systems, including troubleshooting strings/modules, inverters, combiner boxes, feeder lines (direct burial or conduit), racking hardware, tracker motors, actuators, bearings, controllers, sensors, and DAS/SCADA components.
