Job description

What The Role Is
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Intern Solar Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, servicing, and repairing solar PV systems and associated equipment. The primary objective is to maintain safe, effective, efficient, and profitable solar PV operation.
What You'll Be Doing
  • Assist Solar Technicians with preventive, corrective, and maintenance activities on solar PV systems and associated equipment.
  • Support the operation and maintenance of the solar facility through technical and administrative tasks.
  • Participate in equipment inspections and routine maintenance activities under the guidance of experienced technicians.
  • Observe and assist with troubleshooting and repair activities as assigned.
  • Assist with work order documentation and maintenance records within the preventive maintenance management system.
  • Participate in required training, including on-the-job training, self-study, computer-based training, and classroom instruction.
  • Learn and follow Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) requirements, including site safety procedures and documentation requirements.
  • Support the completion of Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Pre-Job Briefs (PJBs), and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) processes as directed.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized manner.
  • Work independently on assigned tasks when appropriate and collaboratively with site personnel and maintenance crews.
  • Travel to other sites as needed.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, relevant and demonstrated experience, education, training and certifications, and other factors permitted by law. This role is eligible to earn an annual cash bonus, subject to personal and company performance goals.
