Our client is a nationally recognized renewable energy developer and owner with a proven track record of delivering some of North America's largest utility-scale clean energy projects. Focused on advancing the energy transition, the company develops, constructs, owns, and operates utility-scale solar generation and battery energy storage facilities that provide reliable, sustainable power to communities across the country.

With a robust pipeline of landmark renewable energy projects and a commitment to engineering excellence, innovation, and long-term asset performance, the organization offers engineers the opportunity to work on industry-defining projects alongside some of the most experienced professionals in the renewable energy sector.

About the Position

Our client is seeking a Project Engineer - Solar + Energy Storage to support the development and execution of utility-scale renewable energy projects from early-stage development through construction and commercial operations.

This position is ideal for an Electrical Engineer with experience supporting large utility-scale solar or solar plus battery storage projects who enjoys working across multiple phases of project development. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with development, engineering, procurement, construction, utilities, consultants, and executive leadership to ensure technically sound project execution while helping optimize project economics and long-term operational performance.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with technical standards

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred; other engineering disciplines will be considered with directly applicable utility-scale renewable energy experience
  • Approximately 4-12 years of engineering experience supporting utility-scale solar, battery energy storage, or renewable energy infrastructure projects
  • Experience supporting projects from greenfield development (or mergers and acquisitions) through engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operations
  • Strong understanding of utility-scale solar photovoltaic systems and battery energy storage technologies
  • Experience leading technical due diligence activities for renewable energy development projects
  • Demonstrated experience developing engineering specifications, technical drawings, contract exhibits, and EPC documentation
  • Experience supporting EPC contractor selection and engineering oversight during construction
  • Knowledge of high-voltage electrical systems and major equipment procurement
  • Experience supporting utility interconnection activities, including coordination with utilities, independent system operators, and transmission providers
  • Familiarity with Large Generator Interconnection Agreements (LGIA), interconnection studies, and utility coordination processes is highly desirable
  • Strong analytical, communication, and project coordination skills
  • Stable employment history demonstrating long-term commitment and progressive career growth

Benefits

  • Competitive base salary of $150,000-$200,000, based on experience
  • Annual incentive bonus opportunity of 20-25%
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) retirement savings plan with company contributions
  • Generous paid time off and company holidays
  • Professional development and career advancement opportunities
  • Opportunity to work on one of the world's largest utility-scale solar and energy storage developments
