Description:

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Power Distribution Engineer II to join our team. The role is primarily responsible for the cost-effective conceptual and engineering solutions to upgrade, expand, maintain, and automate overhead and underground power distribution systems for our clients using various software systems and engineering/construction standards. The role ensures compliance with client procedures, design standards, state and federal regulatory requirements and safety code requirements. They will execute projects under the lead of a Senior Engineer and will work closely with engineers performing substation, distribution, transmission, renewable energy, power storage, and communication designs. Westwood has a highly experienced and dynamic team of individuals dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients.

Requirements:

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform all Distribution Engineer I Roles/Responsibilities
  • Design and develop advanced engineering solutions, applying engineering principles and utility standards.
  • Analyze andvanced projects and prepare a comprehensive design criteria.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to Engineer 1 and interns, fostering their professional growth.
  • Identify and resolve engineering challenges, proposing innovative solutions.
  • Ensure all engineering/design work adheres to industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Preparation of technical documentation, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of project developments and changes.
  • Participate in stakeholder meetings to provide technical insights and updates.
  • Engage in professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Required Skills:

  • 1-3yrs experience w/ B.S in an Engineering Discipline from an ABET accredited university.
  • Can perform all Engineer I activities


Preferred Experience:

  • Relevant Industry Experience
  • E.I.T Certification
