Purpose

Assist in the application of administrative, technical, and managerial techniques to assigned Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage (BESS) electrical design projects to ensure their successful and timely completion within the allocated budget.  


Responsibilities

Leadership and Direction

  • Receive broad guidance from senior-level management and lead engineers relating to overall key objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters and general parameters for execution. Manage people and processes to ensure effective execution of utility scale Solar PV and BESS projects. 

At the Operational and Company Level

  • Represent project team in client communications and resolutions.
  • Coordinate with client, internal departments, and greater project teams to meet project requirements.
  • Assist with enhancing relationships with existing and /or potential clients. 

Do the Work

  • Coordinate multiple projects including; leading weekly client engineering meetings, tracking project schedule and project deliverables for a large project team.
  • Document decisions and direction provided by various stakeholders.
  • Document and follow up on actions and decisions from meetings.
  • Prepare necessary presentation materials and agendas for meetings.
  • Ensure all documentation is maintained appropriately for each project.
  • Monitor and communicate project progress and scope.
  • Assess project risks and issues and provide solutions where applicable.
  • Proactively communicate internally and externally, acting as client point of contact.
  • Adapt to changes in process and scope and proactively assist in problem solving.
  • Communicate verbally and formally with customer representatives, contractors, and engineers.
  • Understand and manage the due diligence process on projects, including initial master planning, work in close
  • coordination with internal design/production teams.
  • Maintain healthy client relationships and possess solid operational insight for driving projects and executing deliverables. 
  • Maintain close relationships with clients to resolve all project questions including technical requirements, completion requirements and billing inquiries. 
  • Liaise with clients and agencies, subcontractors, and design teams on projects. 
  • Review project changes, pending or anticipated alterations to the contract, additional work requests, and all other factors, which may significantly affect staffing requirements or budget. 
  • Track designs through project construction/completion. 
  • Work within established project budgets.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or related discipline preferred.  
  • Three or more (3)+ years of related experience (ideally in design engineering or construction).
  • Demonstrated ability to summarize conclusions and confidently present well-supported arguments with internal/external stakeholders.
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Adept at planning and organizing.
  • Experience with Civil 3D/CADD desired but not required.
  • Adept at working on spreadsheets and other project management tools to organize information.
