Job description

Hypower, LLC is currently seeking a Commissioning Technician to join our Renewable Energy team must be able to travel. Salary range: $35.00-$45.00/hourly depending on qualifications and experience.

SUMMARY

The Commissioning Technician within the Renewable Energy Group is responsible for ensuring that solar photovoltaic (PV) systems are installed and commissioned according to industry standards and regulatory requirements of the project. In Addition, technician will work closely with installation teams, engineers, and project managers to verify system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure compliance with safety protocols.  Establish and maintain outstanding customer relationships. Ensure project goals are met. Execute best practices and adhere to policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform pre-commissioning checks and inspections of solar PV systems.
  • Conduct functional testing of solar panels, inverters, and other electrical components.
  • Verify system performance against design specifications and industry standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to solar PV systems.
  • Collaborate with installation teams to ensure proper system setup and integration.
  • Maintain detailed records of commissioning activities, including test results and inspection reports.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Provide technical support and training to other team members as needed.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of commissioning procedures and protocols.
  • Conduct post-commissioning inspections to ensure ongoing system performance and reliability.

QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in electrical engineering, renewable energy, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in solar PV system installation, maintenance, or commissioning.
  • Strong understanding of electrical principles and solar PV technology.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
  • Proficiency with testing equipment such as multimeters, IV curve tracers, and insulation resistance testers.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel to various project sites as needed.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Proficient in software (Word, Excel, Outlook, Smartsheet's, Procore, Bluebeam)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
