What youwill do

Under general supervision, conducts preventive maintenance, repair, installation, general servicing and troubleshooting of mechanical HVAC systems. Responsible forhigh levelsof customer satisfaction through direct,on site, customer interface.Mentors'peers on mechanical HVAC installation & service activities. Properly completes required project and service documentation.Provide our customers with the highest level of service to solve building inefficiencies and resolveservice-relateditems. As a trusted advisor to ourcustomers,you will provide solutions and outcomes at the time of service

Howyou willdo it

Apprentices are governed by the local unionagreementand they will perform all pneumatic control systems and mechanical equipment service and all other work coming under this Agreement assigned by the Employer, limited only by their capabilities as determined by the Employer, at the respective apprentice rate of pay, and shall perform all assigned work under the direction of the Employer.

Provide recommendations and solutions to ensurefacilityis running efficiently to include upselling opportunities. Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.

Routine service and inspections, regardless of size or location of the HVAC mechanical equipment being inspected or serviced, where this work is done as a periodic and routine procedure by the Employer, such as:

  • Change and service filters

  • Oiling and greasing

  • Adjust or replace belts

  • Clean cooling towers, coils, evaporator and condenser tubes and general housekeeping

  • Mechanical systems operation under contract with customer

  • Cleaning and routine maintenance of solar energy equipment

  • Indoor Air Quality related work including duct systems and drain pans

What we look for

Required

  • Must be a member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL-CIO.

  • Vocational School four-year program or anassociatedegree in mechanical systems, airconditioningor similar field

  • 1+years of industry experience or experience in servicing mechanical systems in the HVAC industry

  • Generally required knowledge includes mechanical HVAC systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipmentinstallationand servicing techniques

  • Effective interpersonal skills toproperly representJohnson Controls to customers and other outside contacts in an ethical and professional manner

  • Ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical people

  • Leadership skills to support the activities of Mechanics working on non-complex, non-critical mechanical HVAC equipment on a job site

Pay Range: $23.68 hourly ratedeterminedby the CBA/rate sheet. Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement.
