POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The System Integration Engineering Team is seeking an experienced, bright, self-motivated Sr. Manager of Hardware and Software Integration and Architecture.
The successful candidate will ensure products and systems are integrated between hardware, firmware (embedded SW), cloud, and SW applications to ensure complete synergy of our solutions.
This position will collaborate with product management and both hardware and software developments teams to define technical aspect of product and system requirements for our next generation products including AC Modules, Inverters, Energy Storage Systems (ESS), energy management, home electrification and integrated software for the North American market.
This role will be the key point of contact between the system integration engineering team and the software development team to ensure requirements and solutions will meet the needs of our customers. This role will collaborate on software level roadmaps, validation test plans, and schedules.
Finally, this role will interface with sales and sustaining pre-sales activities and define advanced configurations and applications needed for product launch and for future market needs.
This position reports to the Head System Integration and Architecture Team. This position will be based out of Santa Clara, CA R&D Center. Travel is expected to be 20% to test facilities and Qcells offices.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Collaborate with product management and development teams to ensure requirements meet systems level solution needs.
  • Drive integration and system level planning across HW, FW, SW, and cloud layer.
  • Own solution level product requirements.
  • Own system software level testing for system integration engineering as part of alpha validation phase including commissioning, homeowner application, fleet application, and APIs.
  • Act as lead voice of customer for all UI/UX products and collaborate with product management to ensure delivery of best-in-class solution.
  • Administrator for system integration engineering confluence and Jira platforms.
  • Develop strategy proposals and drive lab testing automation and automated reporting.
  • Support sales teams with pre-sales activities including product overview and training.
  • Stay abreast of industry SW test standards and methods.
  • Stay abreast of solar and storage industry trends and technologies.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • B.S. in Engineering (Electrical, Computer Science) required, MS preferred.
  • 10+ years technical expertise in solar modules, solar inverters, energy storage, and grid-tied /off grid HW and FW/SW systems.
  • Extensive experience in complex system level requirements of features and functions.
  • Extensive experience in end-to-end product level testing of complex systems, including validation of features and functional performance.
  • Experience working with hardware and software development teams.
  • Experience working with field facing sales, support, and sustaining teams.
  • Experience testing apps and user interface tools.
  • Proficiency in programing in python or other languages.
  • Experience defining, reviewing online and print copy documentation is a plus
  • Ability and proven experience to think creatively, learn quickly, and develop innovative solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Well-organized and proven ability to manage both individual and collaborative team projects.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and with multiple teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent leadership, decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
