Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate the intensity, frequency, and duration of mood disorder symptoms for each client.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans using evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
  • Provide psychoeducation to clients and their families regarding mood disorders, treatment options, and effective self-care strategies.
  • Monitor and document client progress meticulously, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Engage in integrated care collaboration with psychiatrists and medical specialists to provide holistic treatment.
  • Stay informed on the latest research and advancements in mood disorder treatments to enhance therapeutic effectiveness.
  • Participate in case consultations, contribute to regular team meetings, and take advantage of opportunities for professional development.
  • Advocate for client needs, ensuring a compassionate and stigma-free approach to mental health support.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily focuses on individuals grappling with various mood disorders such as depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. Clients may include those from diverse backgrounds, including vulnerable populations such as the homeless, refugees, and individuals experiencing the ramifications of domestic abuse. As a vital part of our outpatient service, you will have the opportunity to provide critical support and guidance to those who need it most.

Qualifications
  • A current and active state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) is mandatory.
  • A Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field is required.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills that foster trust and rapport with clients.
  • Empathy, a nonjudgmental attitude, and a deep understanding of clients' diverse experiences and struggles are essential.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively manage caseload and administrative duties.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience working specifically with mood disorders will be highly regarded.
