Job Summary
Software Development Engineer II
Design, program, build, deploy, and maintain applications on the ServiceNow Platform. Analyze and modify existing software as well as design, construct, and test end-user applications that meet user needs. Participate in full development life cycle including requirements analysis and design. Write technical specifications based on conceptual design and stated organization's requirements. Support, maintain, and document software functionality. Identify and evaluate new technologies for implementation. Analyze code to find causes of errors and revise programs as needed. Consult with end user to prototype, refine, test, and debug programs to meet needs. Requires moderate skill set and proficiency in discipline. Conduct work assignments of increasing complexity, under moderate supervision with some latitude for independent judgment.

Software Development Engineer II
Mid-level developer within the ServiceNow development team to participate in development activities and contribute to continuous platform improvements
Assists in analyzing and evaluating existing systems to defines problems, data availability, reports requirements and system designs issues.
Designs, configures, and develops custom applications and software modules. Utilizes scripting (Business Rules, Script Includes, Flow Designer, and IntegrationHub) while adhering to standard practices.
Assits in designing and developing applications using integrations (REST/SOAP, JSON/XML) using Integration Hub/MID Server where applicable.
Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) concepts and Agile methodologies.
Works within a team dynamic to improve the platform.

EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).
Software Development Engineer, II: Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 4 years or a master's (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience.
Preferences
ServiceNow Certified System Administrator
Experience with API & integration design: RESTful services, webhook/notification integrations.
Working knowledge of the ServiceNow platform, with a focus on HRSD or related modules preferred.
Experience with scripting and development concepts, such as JavaScript and ServiceNow scripting (Glide).
Ability to assess the situation, diagnose symptoms and causes of issues, determine goals and recommend actions to either meet goals or rectify issues, based on analysis of information.
