Job Summary

Leads the design, development, and maintenance of complex software applications. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions that meet business requirements. Mentors junior team members to ensure best practices are followed and drives continuous improvement in the development process.

Essential Functions

  • All team members are expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Prisma Health's purpose: Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference.

  • Designs, develops, documents and tests software applications that meet the organizations product goals ensuring testing of the new code does not impact previous version.

  • Supports the product development process and collaborates with the data operations team such as data acquisition coordinators, database coordinators, interface engineers, product development, business development and end-users/customers as needed.

  • Works with product and process change control (internal and external committees as needed) to prioritize changes and ensure quality in change control processes.

  • Monitors processes and tasks to ensure data integrity for assigned applications are completed in a timely manner. Works with third party systems to integrate frameworks and leverage data sources

  • Works with technical operations teams to maintain service level designs, balance infrastructure, and software solutions with high availability and redundancy in mind.

  • Provides project and leadership teams with analysis and justification for technical recommendations.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

  • This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology/Management, Informatics, Data Science or related field of study.

  • Experience - Five (5) years in software coding and development using Perl, Java, extensible markup language, Linux, Apache, Health Level 7, Crystal and Microsoft tools.

  • In lieu of the education and experience requirements noted above, may consider an equivalent combination of work/academic experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of C sharp, Active Server Pages, Domain names extensions, Hypertext Preprocessor, Python, Perl, Java, or other modern programming languages

  • Knowledge of Structured Query Language database

  • Knowledge and use of agile methods.

  • Knowledge of RESTful Application Programming Interface

  • Ability to works as part of a team or independently to design, develop, document, test and implement innovative software solutions. Software solutions may include web-based tools (browser/mobile), Application Programming Interfaces, or extensions to existing platforms.

  • Ability to analyze, recommend, and implement software frameworks, and technologies.

  • Ability to recognize, understand and ensure products, solutions, and associated processes are compliant with applicable security and privacy regulations and policies.

  • Ability to stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve skills and knowledge.
