BRMi is seeking a Lending Systems Software Tester to support a large financial enterprise client in Vienna, VA.

Purpose: To conduct functional and regression tests on automated systems to ensure compliance with Navy Federal business practices and policies. To assist with comprehensive testing of enhancements to new and existing software and of new systems.

Responsibilities

Perform complete regression tests of new and existing systems (legacy and vendor) functions on software when new or modified functions are introduced. Conduct functional tests to ensure the software is working properly, that they interface correctly with other systems and that appropriate reports are generated. Create and edit test cases in accordance with system requirements. Determine function problems by reviewing testing actions and results, and system outputs (such as reports and transaction documentation) Create, modify, and/or locate the data and conditions needed to execute test cases. Identify and analyze business and system requirements (e.g., needs, objectives, functions, features, input, and output) - Document problems, possible causes, and potential solutions. Work directly with appropriate stakeholders to understand project concepts, objectives, and approach projects. Work with programmers and analysts to assist in problem resolution. Perform partial or complete tests to reverify all the modifications received. Identify discrepancies and errors and inform Software Testing Analysts and programmers. Certify that testing is complete and ready for production implementation. Develop and document procedures and training manuals with regard to subsystem changes or enhancements for use. Maintain complete testing log including time spent testing, software or system problems encountered, testing time lost due to incomplete documentation/test plan or deficiencies of testing tools. Review user documentation related to the tested systems' functions for accuracy prior to its dissemination. Identify discrepancies/errors and inform Software Testing Analysts Accept user inquiries and complaints regarding existing automated systems functions, performs or coordinates effort to identify, define or resolve questions or problems. Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Ability to exercise sound judgment and initiative. Experience in testing systems including various platforms. Knowledge of current technologies like HPE Unified Functional Testing software, HP ALM, JIRA Experience in the financial industry and good understanding of operational and regulatory risks and controls Experience with automated systems analysis, development, and testing procedures Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Basic research, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to produce desired results and achieve objectives. Planning, organizational and time management skills Skill maintaining accuracy with attention to detail. Database and presentation software skills Knowledge of project lifecycles and management methodologies Word processing and spreadsheet software skills

Ability to present findings and conclusions clearly and concisely. Understanding of, and ability to apply, industry best practices Desired - Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Technology or related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience Desired - Experience in automation testing
