EMPLOYER:    Optum Services Inc.

JOB TITLE:    Senior Manager Software Engineering

LOCATION:    1600 McConnor Pkwy, Schaumburg, IL 60173 (Position allows for partial telecommuting out of the Schaumburg, Illinois office)

DUTIES:    Lead multiple global software engineering teams. Interact with stakeholders to understand their requirements and expectations. Ensure the delivery of commitments on time and within budget. Oversee the migration from monolithic systems to a microservices-based architecture. Foster a culture of reliability and quality within the team. Review and provide feedback on architectural designs and decisions made by the team. Document high level architecture and design when needed. Maintain a broad understanding of the business and how applications/assets drive. Modernize several legacy applications using latest technology stack and oversee migration of apps from On-premises onto Cloud. Conduct thorough code reviews with the team members. Build roadmap for the new initiatives and release calendar. Provide strong leadership and guidance to a team of software engineers. Provide technical guidance and support to the team, helping to resolve complex technical issues and making informed decisions. Ensure software engineering processes adhere to quality standards and best practices. Identify potential risks and issues that may impact software development projects and develop mitigation strategies to minimize their impact. Supervises reports. Position allows for partial telecommuting out of the Schaumburg, Illinois office.

REQUIREMENTS:    Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Applied Computer Science, Computer Applications, Computer engineering or related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or in a technology-related occupation. Position requires 3 years of experience in the following: Software and Cloud Engineering; Software development methodologies; Java, Web services (soap & Restful), J2EE, XML, Spring, Spring Batch, spring boot microservices, Azure Function Apps and Azure Logic Apps; Cloud platforms, such as Microsoft Azure and Open Shift; Cloud-based architecture and services; DevOps principles and practices, including continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD); Jenkins, Git, Docker, and Kubernetes; Software testing methodologies including Waterfall model, V-Model and Agile Model; and Software testing tools, AccelQ Automation tool, Selenium, SoapUI, Rational Functional tester and Load runner.

RATE OF PAY:  $166,650.00-$244,440.00/per year
