Job Title: Associate Agile Developer in Test (SDET Intern / Recent Graduate)

Location: Phoenix, AZ (Hybrid – Local Candidates Only)
Duration: 6 Months Internship
Rate: $18/hr on W2 (All Inclusive)
Work Hours:
20–40 hours/week (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM; flexible around college schedule)

Position Overview:
Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS) is seeking a current college student or recent graduate for a 6-month Associate Agile Developer in Test (SDET) Internship. This hybrid opportunity offers hands-on experience building automated tests, supporting release verification, and working with modern enterprise technologies in an Agile environment. Candidates will collaborate with developers, QA, and DevOps teams while gaining experience in shift-left testing, automation, and CI/CD practices.
Required Skills:
  •  Current college student (Undergraduate or Master's) or recent graduate in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field 
  •  Working knowledge of Java and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
  •  Basic understanding of Software Testing, JUnit, and defect lifecycle 
  •  Database testing experience with SQL (Oracle/MongoDB knowledge is a plus) 
  •  Exposure to Maven
  •  Basic scripting knowledge (Python, Bash/Shell, or PowerShell) 
  •  Ability to work in an Agile environment 
  •  Strong communication and collaboration skills 
Preferred Skills:
  • Spring Boot
  • Selenium, Cucumber (BDD/Gherkin)
  • CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Nexus)
