ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a RTM Software Test Specialist that is a disciplined test leader who ensures that all Release Train testing activities are planned, executed, and reported with precision. This role requires a blend of technical testing expertise, strong coordination skills, and the ability to enforce NGA/NTO testing standards while keeping stakeholders aligned across multiple programs. The RTM Software Test Specialist tracks and synchronizes software testing for RTM. The STS coordinates with release trains from other Government Point of Contact projects and other NGA offices to ensure stakeholders are aware of testing efforts and that capability satisfies dependencies and cross-program functionality where required.   

DUTIES

  • Works with required NGA testing organizations according to their processes and standards.
  • Ensures that Factory Acceptance Testing, Operational Readiness Testing, NTO Test Readiness Review (TRR) are scheduled and monitors execution.
  • Works at the Release Train Level. Monitors all testing and all demonstrations of all software package deliveries in their Release Trains.
  • Establishes and conducts all demonstration gates, working with Mission and Product owners, vendors and engineers to coordinate meetings and document conversations, changes and decisions for each proposed set of solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree plus 6 years of experience, or Master's plus 3 years of experience in Government Program and Information Technology or a related field.
  • Experience in monitoring and reporting on testing and deployment of complex systems into operations.  
  • Experience working within a SAFe Agile framework.
  • Experience using JIRA/Confluence, and Tableau. 
  • Experience directly supporting the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency 

Desired

  • Experience with monitoring, reporting progress and capturing lessons learned for testing and transition activities such as Transition Activity Plans (TAPs)

The ideal candidate will:

  • Bring hands-on experience with NGA/NTO testing processes-including Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Operational Readiness Testing (ORT), and Test Readiness Reviews (TRR).
  • Demonstrate ability to map requirements to test cases and results, maintaining full traceability in JIRA and Confluence.
  • Be skilled in using JIRA, Confluence, and Tableau to monitor test execution, track defects, and provide real-time reporting to leadership.
  • Have experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium) and integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to increase efficiency and coverage.
  • Coordinate cross-program testing dependencies, ensuring environments, schedules, and integration points are aligned across multiple stakeholders.
  • Lead and document demonstration gates with Product Owners, engineers, and vendors-capturing outcomes, evidence, and sign-offs.
  • Monitor and report test metrics such as pass/fail rates, defect escape rates, and cycle times to measure and improve testing effectiveness.
  • Understand and operate within a SAFe Agile framework, aligning test cadence with Program Increments and sprint delivery cycles.
  • Demonstrated understanding of SAFe Agile constructs (Solution Epics, Capabilities, Features, etc.) to support Release Train Management alignment.
  • Excellent communication skills to support enterprise-wide synchronization, status reporting, and collaboration with leadership and stakeholders
