This position requires copmliance with US export control lasws under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Appliants need to meet the definition of a US person under ITAR (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Lawful Permanent Resident, Refugee, or Asylee).

Introduction

The Quality Technician is responsible for supporting product quality and production flow by managing non-conforming material, coordinating source inspections, performing inspections on returned material, and maintaining accurate quality records. This role partners with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Quality to ensure issues are identified, documented, and resolved efficiently while maintaining compliance with customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements.

The Quality Technician contributes to reducing quality escapes, improving response time, and supporting continuous improvement across the manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the identification, documentation, segregation, and disposition of non-conforming material.
  • Coordinate third-party source inspections by preparing products, documentation, and quality records.
  • Perform inspections of returned material (RMA) and document findings to support timely customer resolution.
  • Maintain accurate quality records, inspection documentation, NCRs, and supporting data within company systems.
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain to resolve quality issues and minimize production disruptions.
  • Verify completion of containment and corrective actions as assigned.
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100, customer requirements, ITAR regulations, and internal quality procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives through accurate data collection, problem identification, and process feedback.
  • Other duties, as assigned or required.

Core Requirements

  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong observational and analytical skills to identify quality issues accurately and consistently.

  • Proficiency with inspection tools and equipment, including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measurement instruments.

  • Working knowledge of quality systems and methodologies, such as AS9100, ISO standards, Lean Manufacturing, and root-cause analysis tools.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and technical documentation with a high level of accuracy.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across Quality, Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain.

  • Advanced computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite, quality management software (QMS), and data analysis tools within a manufacturing or regulated environment.

  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation, in accordance with ADA requirements.

Desireable Skills and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical, vocational, or trade school training in quality control, manufacturing, engineering, or a related field strongly preferred.

  • Five or more years of experience in quality inspection, manufacturing, electronics, or a regulated production environment; experience working within AS9100 or aerospace/defense quality systems is highly advantageous.

  • Demonstrated ability to accurately use and read precision measurement tools, including but not limited to calipers, micrometers, feeler gauges, height gauges, and X-ray or other non-destructive inspection equipment.

  • Strong understanding of inspection techniques, non-conformance handling, and documentation requirements in a high-mix, high-reliability manufacturing environment.

  • Competence in interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and technical data, including GD&T, preferred.

  • Proficiency in computer-based quality systems, including QMS platforms, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
