Job description


The Software Quality Engineer is results-driven, team oriented, self-motivated software quality professional who combines solid software testing credentials with emerging automation testing trends in the industry. This role will have the opportunity to bring innovations in software automation testing for delivering world-class cutting-edge products to the 7000 plus Taco Bell restaurants. The Software QA Engineer will report to the QA Manager
Responsibilities
The Day-to-Day:
• Review requirements, technical design documents, create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases
• Prepare appropriate test environments and labs
• Perform backend validation (API, DB, verify logs), review software bug reports and analyze test results.
• Coordinate with development team to resolve issues and product owners to ensure correct functionality has been developed
• Design, develop and execute automation scripts. Monitor and troubleshoot failures in automation scripts
• Use AI-assisted QA tools to help generate test scenarios, improve automation coverage, analyze defects, and increase testing efficiency across releases
• Collaborate with development team to understand the software and infrastructure design, and discuss verification protocols
Qualifications
Is this you?
• At least 2 years' experience in information technology or 1 year software quality assurance
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or information technology or equivalent years of experience
• At least 1 year hands on manual testing experience with docker containers, AWS, API, microservices, Mongo DB, Dynamo DB, Datadog
• Familiar with automation scripts built on Rest Assured, Selenium, TestNG, Maven, Apium, Jenkins or GitLab
• Experience using AI/GenAI-assisted testing tools to generate test cases, optimize automation coverage, accelerate root cause analysis, and improve overall QA efficiency
• At least 2 years' hands on experience with Postman, JIRA, Qmetry, Datadog
