BITCO Corporation, headquartered in Davenport, Iowa, is seeking a Senior IT Quality Assurance Analyst to join our team. With 11 branch offices in 10 states, BITCO provides quality insurance services to special industries including Construction, Forest Products, and Oil & Gas. This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.
Position Summary:
Working as part of the Quality Assurance team within our Information Technology department, this position will support the accountable delivery of platforms and applications designed to enhance our users' experience and meet the needs of our business. This team conducts all forms of testing for BITCO's applications with accountability for test strategy, test planning, execution, and test metrics. This team will develop and champion a move from highly manual to highly automated testing. This role will participate in defining comprehensive quality engineering approaches that ensure robust validation of business workflows, scenarios across multiple integrated systems ensuring functional and data coverage using industry leading practices and automation. The QA team is responsible for properly and thoroughly testing and validating applications prior to any production release, while acting as a liaison across all departments to test interfaces or processes while compiling and analyzing information to make improvement recommendations-based findings.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Define and own end to end test strategy for all platform and application releases, covering multiple aspects of testing to include functional, integration, regression, and non-functional.
  • Develop and conduct system integration and regression testing across multiple applications while ensuring optimal test coverage
  • Help develop and drive an automation-first approach across all aspects of testing relevant to modern and legacy enterprise class applications
  • Participate in the establishment and scaling of a test data strategy including synthetic test data approaches
  • Analyze business requirements/user stories of major planned deliveries to understand the expectations from end-users, review with Business Analysts/SME to design appropriate and comprehensive test scenarios
  • Monitors and updates defect metrics/reports on a regular basis to ensure timely problem identification and resolution/escalation
  • Works closely with our Digital Solutions, SI Partners, offshore teams, and vendors to collaborate on the analysis, design, development, testing, and UAT of our enterprise releases
  • Conducts functional, regression, integration, and system testing on newly designed or modified applications/systems/APIs, etc.
  • Participates and own the communication of analysis of test results and patterns through active engagement and communication using industry standards metrics across entire organization
  • Participate in the process of identifying, evaluating, recommending, implementing, and maturation of automation testing tools
  • Help provide accurate data-based transparent timelines of testing processes, risks, etc. to ensure timelines are realistic without negative impacts to release quality
  • Team responsibility for driving continuous improvement of the QA process and technologies
  • Engage Developers to help perform root cause analysis for defects/bugs and help drive resolution within established SLA
  • Ability to lead or assist with the development of procedures and strategies for Quality Assurance activities based on best practices to ensure continuous improvement
  • Commitment to ensuring end-user experience meets expectations during testing as well as post-implementation by partnering with the business, Digital Solutions, Development, and UAT teams

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5-7 years' experience with enterprise QA methodologies and problem-solving
  • Experience in Insurance or Financial Services highly preferred
  • Experience in enterprise platforms and applications like Duck Creek, SFDC, ServiceNow, Kalepa, APIs, and EDW environments
  • Enterprise Software testing experience with insurance-based platforms and services
  • Experience with test automation solutions and moving organizations from manual to automated testing
  • Strong analytical skills with extreme comfort with industry standard metrics to communicate with business and technical audiences across key finding and learning
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of lifecycle development, change control management, test planning, test data strategy, and test/defect management
  • Strong ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment across multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience with Azure cloud deployments, CICD, DEVOPS and SOA, event driven applications
  • Capable of working independently, managing priorities, and meeting deadlines with minimal oversight
