Job description

VetsEZ is seeking a Software Delivery Project Manager to lead and coordinate agile software development efforts for the VistA SSN-Reduction project. This role will manage VistA package code and integration analysis, project delivery, facilitate agile processes, and ensure the team meets technical, quality, and compliance standards in support of federal healthcare modernization.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of software project supporting HIG VistA SSN-Reduction.
  • Oversee the analysis of five VistA packages to assess scope of SSN usage, identify all internal and external integrations, and define incremental deployment plan .
  • Facilitate agile ceremonies including daily standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Remove impediments and foster a collaborative, high-performing team environment.
  • Manage project timelines, milestones, deliverables, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate communication between stakeholders, architects, product owners, and development teams.
  • Track and report project progress, risks, and issues to leadership and clients.
  • Ensure adherence to agile best practices and continuous improvement processes.
  • Support requirements gathering, prioritization, and backlog management.
  • Maintain project documentation, including status reports, meeting notes, and action items.
  • Ensure compliance with VA enterprise standards, federal regulations, and security requirements.
  • Guide the team in adopting DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines (applicable to VistA releases), and quality assurance processes.
  • Lead the delivery of onboarding packages, technical documentation, and training materials for developers and stakeholders.
  • Participate in architecture reviews and ensure alignment with solution designs and technical roadmaps.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in software project management, preferably in agile environments.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex software projects in healthcare or federal IT settings.
  • Strong understanding of agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and software delivery lifecycle.
  • Experience managing cross-functional technical teams (developers, engineers, architects).
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency with project management and agile tools (Jira, Confluence, MS Project, etc.).
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Agile or project management certifications (e.g., PMP, PMI-ACP, Certified ScrumMaster).
  • Prior experience supporting VA programs, Cerner Oracle, or federal healthcare initiatives.
  • Familiarity with cloud-native development (AWS, Kubernetes), DevOps, and CI/CD practices.
  • Experience with technical documentation and developer enablement.
