Job description

We are seeking a Senior Construction Project Manager to lead and oversee fast-paced Petroleum /Commercial construction projects from inception to completion that are positioned all over the U.S. These are ground-up projects. In this role, you will. manage the field teams, and coordinate all phases of construction, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. Your expertise in construction management software, project scheduling, and site coordination will drive project success while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards. This position will require travel around the U.S. occasionally for site visits and to develop scopes of work.

Duties

  • Lead the planning, execution, and closing of construction projects, ensuring adherence to project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Develop detailed project schedules using Microsoft Project or similar project management tools to optimize workflow and resource allocation.
  • Oversee daily construction site activities, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, building codes, and contract specifications.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to facilitate seamless communication and project progression.
  • Review blueprints, schematics, and contracts to ensure clarity and accuracy before project commencement.
  • Utilize construction estimating techniques to prepare accurate cost projections and manage budgets effectively.
  • Manage procurement processes using construction management software such as ProCore or Bluebeam for document control and communication.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality standards, and safety compliance; address issues proactively.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on project status, risks, and milestones for stakeholders.
  • Facilitate change order processes and contract negotiations to adapt to evolving project needs.
  • Ensure timely delivery of projects by managing project schedules diligently while prioritizing quality outcomes.
  • Support project field team members and subordinate Project Managers through effective time management practices and leadership.

Experience

  • Proven experience managing large-scale construction projects across petroleum and commercial, projects with a strong track record of successful delivery.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction site operations including blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and site safety protocols.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard construction management software such as ProCore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project & Sharepoint.
  • Familiarity with construction estimating methods for accurate cost forecasting.
  • Hands-on experience with contract administration including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts.
  • Strong understanding of construction management principles including project coordination, scheduling techniques, and resource planning.
  • Ability to read technical drawings accurately and interpret schematics for effective onsite implementation.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in managing multidisciplinary teams on busy construction sites with diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a focus on time management to meet tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Design-Build Project Experience.
