Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is currently seeking a Business Development Manager 3 to support our Platform Systems Modernization (PSM) Operating Unit based in Lake Charles, LA. The selected candidate can be located on-site with our teams in Lake Charles, LA; McLean, Virginia; Oklahoma City, OK; or Ogden, UT. Joining the team virtually as a full-time teleworker may also be considered, although on-site is preferred.

In this role, the selected candidate works with the business unit strategy and business development team establishing and achieving operating unit level awards objectives. This role will be responsible for developing new business aligned with the organization's strategy by providing oversight of customer requirements, new business opportunity identification and qualification, as well as capture and proposal efforts to secure new business and meet / exceed these objectives annually. This requires close collaboration with all organizational leadership, strategy, technology, business management, contracts, global supply chain, human resources, and other functional organizations in order to successfully execute the business acquisition process and deliver superior results.

Responsibilities

  • Grows the pipeline through opportunity identification, assessment and maturation aligned with business unit strategic objectives.
  • Ensures pipeline sufficiency to achieve annual and long-range growth objectives.
  • Translates business unit strategic plans into operating results.
  • Develops manages and executes customer engagement plans aligned to appropriate leadership levels within the organization.
  • Cultivates networks across all DoD areas and other NG sectors and interfaces with customers.
  • Provides decision support to leadership with strong business cases for pursuing new growth opportunities.
  • Develops and manages internal budgets required to execute new business growth activities.
  • Ensures compliance with the Northrop Grumman Business Acquisition Process to ensure the development of quality products and successful business outcomes.
  • Oversees the development of sound win strategies for targets within the business development portfolio
  • Collaborates with capture managers to identify resources to close on capture and proposal requirements through proposal delivery
  • Supports the transition of proposal awards to successful program execution.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • A minimum of 10 years combined government and/or industry experience with relevant business development background
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience with software development, system/program sustainment, logistics, manufacturing, or other areas across government programs
  • Must have demonstrated scale pipeline development and execution along with a winning record
  • Must have or be able to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance
  • The ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed (up to 50% of the time)
  • Current customer intimacy with DISA, MDA, USAF, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army and other US government organizations

Primary Level Salary Range: $151,500.00 - $227,300.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
