Manufacturing Intern 1st Shift 7 am-3:30 pm
Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Manufacturing Intern to support our Quality
and Operations teams. This role is ideal for a recent high school graduate, trade school
student, community college student, or college student interested in gaining hands-on
experience in a manufacturing environment.
The primary responsibility of this position is to document manufacturing processes by
observing operations, taking photographs of workstations and production steps,
interviewing operators and supervisors, and creating clear work instructions and process
documentation. The intern will work closely with the Quality Manager to ensure
documentation is accurate, complete, and easy to follow.
No prior manufacturing experience is required. Training will be provided.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Observe manufacturing and assembly operations throughout the facility.
- Take photographs of workstations, equipment, tools, and production processes.
- Interview operators, technicians, and supervisors to understand process steps and
key operating requirements.
- Document standard work procedures, quality checkpoints, safety requirements,
and process parameters.
- Create clear, photo-based work instructions and standard operating procedures
(SOPs).
- Organize and maintain process documentation in accordance with company
standards.
- Submit completed documentation to the Quality Manager for review and approval.
- Revise documentation based on feedback from production and quality teams.
- Assist with training material development and document control activities.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and other operational projects as
assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Trade school, vocational school, community college, or college students are
encouraged to apply.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable interacting with production employees and supervisors.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments.
- Ability to spend significant time on the shop floor observing operations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience using smartphones or digital cameras for documentation.
- Interest in manufacturing, operations, quality, or industrial processes.
- Previous work experience in manufacturing, warehouse, retail, or service industries
is a plus but not required.
Reporting Structure:
This position reports directly to the Quality Manager and works closely with Production
Supervisors, Operators, and Operations Leadership.
