What You'll Do

Job Title:

Software Engineer

Location:

Austin, Texas

Job Title/High Level Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer - Orthopedic Navigation, AR & Robotics to join the Enovis Enabling Technologies team developing next-generation computer-assisted orthopedic surgery systems.

This is a hands-on software development position focused on real-time orthopedic navigation, with primary applications in augmented reality surgical navigation and navigation integrated with robotic/mechatronic systems for knee and shoulder procedures. The engineer will work as part of a multidisciplinary software and engineering team of six or more developers and will be expected to serve as a lead software programmer for an assigned AR or robotic navigation application.

The ideal candidate is an experienced software engineer who is equally comfortable developing complex 3D applications, implementing mathematical and navigation algorithms, interfacing with hardware and tracking systems, and debugging real-time system behavior in the lab or operating-room environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a lead software developer for an assigned orthopedic navigation application, with responsibility for significant portions of the software architecture, implementation, integration, debugging, and technical execution.
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain software for augmented reality and robotic-assisted orthopedic navigation systems, including knee and shoulder applications.
  • Develop high-performance applications using C++ and Unity, including 3D visualization, surgical workflow, navigation algorithms, user interfaces, and hardware integration.
  • Develop and maintain software operating across Windows and Android platforms, including communication and integration between distributed computing devices, sensors, navigation hardware, and robotic/mechatronic systems.
  • Implement and integrate mathematical algorithms involving 3D coordinate systems, rigid-body transformations, registration, calibration, optical tracking, sensor data, kinematics, surgical measurements, and spatial visualization.
