Job description

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Structural Engineer to lead design and analysis efforts for a diverse range of commercial, industrial, and institutional projects. This leadership position requires technical excellence, strong project management skills, and the ability to mentor a growing team of engineers and designers while maintaining close collaboration with clients and multidisciplinary partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage structural engineering projects from concept through completion, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to deadlines

  • Perform and review complex analyses and designs for steel, concrete, masonry, timber, and cold-formed steel systems

  • Lead quality control reviews and provide technical guidance throughout the design process

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop junior engineers and technical staff to build team capability and performance

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, managing relationships and maintaining a high standard of service

  • Collaborate closely with architects, contractors, and consultants to coordinate project objectives and deliverables

  • Prepare and review construction documents, specifications, and reports for compliance with codes and client requirements

  • Conduct structural assessments and site observations to support design recommendations

  • Manage budgets, schedules, and project resources to ensure profitability and timely delivery

  • Stay current with materials, methods, and design software to advance team capabilities

Requirements:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Masterโ€™s preferred)

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license with structural emphasis; eligibility for Georgia reciprocity within six months

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in structural design and analysis within a consulting environment

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, RAM Elements, RAM Connection, or comparable structural design software

  • Deep knowledge of building codes and design standards including IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI, and NDS

  • Demonstrated success managing multiple projects, budgets, and teams concurrently

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship management skills

  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to technical accuracy and innovation
