Job description


As an Advanced Software Engineer - Flight Management Systems here at Honeywell Aerospace, you will work in a fast-paced and exciting development environment with a team of experienced software and systems engineers to satisfy technical requirements, support functional load deliveries and ensure compliance with certification requirements.
You will report directly to our Sr Engineering Manager, and work out of our Aguadilla, Puerto Rico location. External hires will begin with 90 days onsite before transitioning to a hybrid (3/2) schedule. There are relocation benefits available for this position.
Join our dynamic Flight Management System team at Honeywell Aerospace, where we design, develop, and integrate highly complex systems for our Anthem Next Generation Avionics project. We are on the lookout for an experienced Software Engineer who is passionate about creating innovative software solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Designing and developing high-quality Core Software architecture and applications
  • Integrating Flight Management software for new product development
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and specifications
  • Implement software solutions that meet performance, security, and scalability requirements
  • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members
  • Testing and Integration on test benches in labs
  • Staying up to date with industry trends and best practices in software development

Travel, up to 15%, may be expected - both US and internationally
Qualifications
MUST HAVE:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development
  • Strong C++ or Object-oriented programming skills
  • Experience with software development methodologies such as Agile or Scrum
  • Strong software architecture and design development skills

  • Multi-core / multi-thread development experience
  • Strong understanding of OOAD approach and concepts
  • Software development lifecycle experience per DO-178C
  • Experience with Software Verification and Validation using C++

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Passion for continuous learning and professional development
