Job Description
The Bosch VM Product Division develops innovative solutions for active driving safety including highly automated driving. Areas include: Antilock Braking Systems(ABS), Traction Control Systems(TCS), Steering System, Electronic Stability Control(ESC), Sensors (wheel-speed, steering-angle, and yaw-rate); Electronics for occupant and pedestrian safety (airbag control and crash sensors), Driver assistance systems (Predictive Emergency Braking, and Night Vision Networked solutions) As a leading supplier in the automotive industry, Robert Bosch LLC has made its Farmington Hills and Plymouth Michigan facilities the headquarters for its North American automotive businesses. These facilities house more than 1,700 associates who are dedicated to improving relationships with our customers and furthering Bosch's technologies.
  • Analysis customer's requirements or spec proposal
  • Develop and maintain AUTOSAR-based Base Software (BSW) solutions for next-generation Electronic Brake Control Modules (EBCM) and Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV) platforms.
  • Design, implement, and integrate Base Software components, including Diagnostics (DEM/DCM), Communication Stacks (CAN, CAN FD, Ethernet), Network Management (NET), Bootloader, XCP, and related platform services.
  • Collaborate with Architecture Engineers and System Teams to refine requirements and participate in system and software design reviews.
  • Support the integration of platform software releases and configure BSW modules to meet customer-specific requirements.
  • Collaborate with global development teams to drive platform updates, software integration, and feature implementation across multiple vehicle programs.
  • Interface between customer project, Platform and SW development group
  • Participate in software design, code reviews, and test case reviews to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and cybersecurity requirements.
  • Conduct software verification activities, including unit testing, integration testing, simulation, and vehicle-level validation as required.
  • Investigate and resolve software defects, integration issues, and vehicle communication problems through root cause analysis and debugging.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation in accordance with ASPICE-compliant software development processes.
  • Work effectively within an Agile development environment and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Integration, test and delivery of diagnosis communication related software in customer project development diagnosis/net communication related software project development planning, coordination and release for series production
  • Take ownership of assigned features and deliver high-quality software solutions on schedule
  • Department task support / coordination

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in embedded software development using C and/or C++.
  • 1-2 years of experience with AUTOSAR Diagnostic Communication Manager (DCM) and Diagnostic Event Manager (DEM) modules.
  • 1-2 years of experience with one or more AUTOSAR BSW modules, such as CAN Stack, Ethernet Stack, Network Management (NET), NvM, Bootloader, or XCP.
  • Experience with automotive diagnostics, including UDS, OBDII, DTC handling, diagnostic memory management, and diagnostic communication concepts.
  • Strong understanding of AUTOSAR architecture and Base Software concepts.
  • Experience with automotive communication protocols, including CAN, CAN FD, Ethernet, LIN, and related diagnostic protocols.
  • Experience with software configuration management tools such as Git/GitHub and Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) tools.
  • Experience with debugging and troubleshooting embedded software using automotive development and measurement tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate issues using limited information.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a global engineering environment.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in US.
  • Must possess a valid US driver's license.

What Gives You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Master's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with AUTOSAR Classic Platform configuration, integration, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Network Management (NET), Bootloader, XCP, and Communication Stack development.
  • Experience with automotive diagnostic and calibration tools such as CANoe, CANalyzer, DiagR, CANape, INCA, or Trace32.
  • Exposure to cybersecurity concepts, secure boot mechanisms, and secure software update strategies.
  • Experience with software update technologies, including Bootloader development and Over-the-Air (OTA) update concepts.
  • Knowledge of ISO 26262 functional safety requirements and ASPICE software development processes.
  • Familiarity with Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV) architectures and zonal E/E vehicle platforms.
  • Experience with automotive braking systems, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), and chassis control systems.
