Position Overview:
We are seeking a Software Engineer II to join our engineering team and contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of scalable, API-driven applications. This role focuses on hands-on development, collaboration, and continuous improvement of our systems while providing opportunities to grow technically and professionally.
You will be expected to take ownership of assigned tickets, research solutions within our existing technology stack, and continuously improve your skills while contributing feedback to the development process.
Job duties:
  • Develop, test, and maintain software using Java and Spring-based technologies
  • Implement features according to designs and technical direction provided by the team lead
  • Follow ticket requirements and engineering standards when delivering work
  • Research and propose solutions within the constraints of the existing architecture and tech stack
  • Participate in code reviews and apply feedback to improve code quality
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application and production issues
  • Consistently deliver assigned tasks in a timely manner
  • Ask questions and seek clarification to ensure high-quality outcomes
  • Provide constructive feedback on development processes and tooling

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience) (required)
  • At least 3 years of professional software development experience (required)
  • Working proficiency in Java and Spring (mid-level competency)
  • Experience building and supporting RESTful APIs and backend services
  • Familiarity with relational databases and ORM frameworks (e.g., Hibernate)
  • Ability to follow established designs while independently implementing solutions
  • Strong problem-solving and research skills within an existing codebase
  • Experience using Git for version control
  • Experience with AWS services (e.g., EC2, SQS, RDS)
  • Familiarity with messaging systems such as JMS
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins
  • Experience working with Jira or similar ticketing systems
  • Familiarity with Tomcat or similar application servers
