The Opportunity
As a Software Engineer T2, you will be part of an Agile development team where you will support the design, development, modification, and evaluation of signals intelligence, radar, and communications prototype development systems, related software systems, and development environments for our Navy customer. You will have the opportunity to get hands-on experience with a variety of software tools and processes around containerized applications development and deployment, troubleshoot dataflow between embedded systems and containerized applications, and work directly with RF equipment in the Fairfax lab. We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Software Engineer to join our growing development team. This role will work with a few programming languages (Java, C/C++, Python), designing and deploying modular applications, employing front-end and back-end technologies, and leveraging DevSecOps tooling to deliver seamless secure solutions.
Responsibilities
Duties will include all aspects of software engineering, including: requirements analysis and specification software design, implementation and integration, testing, maintenance and installation.
Produce quality, sustainable, and efficient code using best practices and modern software methodologies.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, the Customer and their representatives to take requirements and translate them into end-to-end solutions.
Collaborate with DevSecOps team in implementing CI/CD processes to facilitate efficient and effective development cycles
Collaborate with external teams to integrate our software products onto different environments
Own the software baseline from development to deployment and integration onto multiple development and test environments
Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize applications for speed and scalability across distributed environments
Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes, etc)
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
3-5 years of hands-on software development experience
Strong proficiency in at least two programming language (e.g., Java, C/C++, Python)
Understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and system scalability
Familiar with container automation and orchestration tooling employment (Kubernetes, Podman/Docker)
Proficiency in front-end and back-end technologies (React, Node.js, Django) and frameworks as required by the role
Knowledge of Agile software development best practices
Strong communication skills, ability to work independently and within agile team constructs to lead developers in fast paced, collaborative environments
Strong documentation skills following templated formats for both informal and formal documents (Confluence, Word, Power Point, Excel)
Proficiency in debugging issues and providing solutions in both high level and detailed format
Active or ability to acquire Top Secret/SCI DoD Security Clearance

3-5 years in developing software to enable digital signal processing systems, using cloud native platforms, and edge computing environments with a focus on security
RF and DSP experience
Proficiency utilizing Linux based system (e.g., RHEL, CentOS, Rocky, VxWorks)
