Job description

Muhlbauer, Inc., headquartered in Newport News, Virginia, seeks a Software Engineer to work at unanticipated location(s) in the U.S. Will develop and customize software for semiconductor machines.

  • Develop and test software for Mühlbauer’s semiconductor applications;
  • Help produce semiconductor software for Muhlbauer customers;
  • Obtain input from customers to enhance the company’s software development process;
  • Provide acceptance and software training for Mühlbauer’s semiconductor systems at customer’s sites;
  • Provide software support service for customers; and
  • Complete appropriate written documentation and feedback for service interventions.

Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering or an equivalent foreign degree and two years of relevant post-bachelor experience in developing and installing software for industrial machines and providing software engineering support to customers, including training and servicing. Required experience must include the following:

  • Development and implementation of user interfaces;
  • Development and implementation of software Uptime Analysis tools;
  • Production support in high-volume production environment;
  • Software testing; and
  • Experience with the following:
    • Microsoft Visual Studio Professional for C, C++, C# programming and debugging
    • Microsoft Azure for TFS code server management
    • TwinCAT PLC control for Beckhoff development
    • TwinCAT system manager for Beckhoff application and debugging
    • Enterprise architect or Microsoft Visio for software block diagram
    • OPC server for interface between machine and GUI
    • ICE and GEM for SECS/GEM applicationAnyDesk, Teamviewer for remote support
  • Either travelling to unanticipated worksites (up to 50% in U.S.) or relocation to long-term project might be required.
