Job Summary:

The Sr. Software Engineer II will design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain software applications on the Waystar Claims platform, collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain robust and scalable software applications and services using C#/.NET.
โ€ข Collaborate with product owners, architects, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical specifications and actionable development plans.
โ€ข Write clean, efficient, well-documented, and maintainable code adhering to Waystar's coding standards and best practices.
โ€ข Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring high code quality.
โ€ข Troubleshoot and debug complex software issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
โ€ข Contribute to the continuous improvement of Waystar's software development processes, tools, and infrastructure.
โ€ข Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge within the team, fostering a culture of learning and growth.
โ€ข Develop and maintain automated tests (unit, integration, and end-to-end) to ensure software reliability and stability.

Required:

โ€ข Experience designing and building microservices and distributed systems using asynchronous, message-based architectures (e.g., RabbitMQ).
โ€ข Solid understanding of software development best practices including Agile methodologies, CI/CD (Azure DevOps Pipelines), and test-driven development (TDD).
โ€ข Experience with containerization and container orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm chart authoring and deployment.
โ€ข Familiarity with Git-based version control and GitHub pull request workflows.
โ€ข Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
โ€ข Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
โ€ข Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

โ€ข Experience with Snowflake, Big Query, or similar cloud data warehouse technologies.
