The Role
As a Software Engineer at Runloop, you'll be at the forefront of building a revolutionary platform that enables the next generation of AI-augmented software engineering tools. You'll work on cutting-edge features that solve unique challenges in AI agent orchestration, code execution and understanding, and seamless local-to-cloud development for AI-powered coding solutions, all wrapped in a developer friendly interface.
Responsibilities
  • AI-Driven Product Development: Design and implement key components of our AI software engineering platform
  • Developer Experience: Create intuitive APIs, SDKs, and developer tools that make it easy for our users to build and scale their AI coding solutions on top of Runloop across the stack including our robust UI
  • Scalability and Performance: Build highly scalable and efficient systems capable of handling the unique demands of AI-powered software engineering tools, including long-running AI jobs and extreme parallelization
  • Security and Compliance: Implement robust security measures to ensure the safe execution of AI agents and protect sensitive codebases
  • Product & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product, design, and infrastructure partners to translate user needs into high-quality technical solutions. Participate in technical design discussions and contribute to roadmap planning
  • Quality, Testing & Iteration: Write maintainable, well-tested code. Improve code quality, developer workflows, and internal tooling to help the team move quickly and confidently

Qualifications
  • Strong background in software engineering, with 3+ years of experience building performant products or infrastructure deployed at scale
  • Experience building developer platforms or APIs
  • Proficiency in languages commonly used in AI and full stack development (e.g., Python, Java, Typescript)
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure, containerization, and orchestration technologies
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to tackle novel technical challenges
  • Passion for developer tools and improving software engineering processes
