Position Description:

Migrates existing desktop application suites across multiple technology stacks, including Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF), Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP), and REST Application Programming Interface (APIs) to an Angular or Java tech stack. Participates in software design and promotes accurate software engineering and error prevention strategies, development, and security. Builds new and improved capabilities on modern web-based tech stacks to deliver industry best experiences. Aligns standard methodologies regarding Object-Oriented Design (OOD), coding standards, RESTful service consumption and integration, common design patterns, secured application development, and test coverage. Confers with systems analysts, engineers, programmers, and others to design systems and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements, and interfaces. Provides business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
  • Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.
  • Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
  • Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.
  • Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.
  • Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.
  • Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.
  • Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.
  • Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.
  • Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Information Systems Management, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing, implementing, and supporting financial software systems using Microsoft Office 365 technology.

Or, alternatively, Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Information Systems Management, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing, implementing, and supporting financial software systems using Microsoft Office 365 technology.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") developing, designing, and analyzing responsive designs and reusable components for single page web applications, using modern JavaScript frameworks, Node, JSON, React, and CSS frameworks according to Agile methodologies.
  • DE developing, designing, and analyzing software systems, using REST APIs and Java to improve software design; and promoting bug prevention strategies and unit testing implementing Jasmine and Jest to migrate modern web-based tech stack, using JavaScript frameworks, OOD, and coding standards.
  • DE designing, developing, analyzing, and conducting Quality Assurance (QA) for web-based customer engagement solutions, using the Model-View-Controller (MVC) architecture and web services (Swagger); and preparing comprehensive solution design documentation using Visual Studio Code and GitHub according to Agile methodologies.
  • DE monitoring, developing, and supporting high-performance code deployments across QA and production environments, using Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools (Jenkins), performance monitoring and debugging tools (Datadog), and browser developer (Firefox and Chrome developers).
