Job description

The Opportunity:

VS (Vehicle component Solutions) Company (https://www.lg.com/global/mobility) of LG Electronics focuses on commercializing environmentally responsible automotive components and core solutions based on LG's proprietary technologies. A leading provider of core components for global car manufacturers, VS Company is supporting the emerging trend of the vehicle industry.

As the Development Engineer - CONTRACTOR, you will:

  • Setup Dev/Test Environment and provide tools on-site support at customer location in Farmington Hills, MI
  • S/W reflash to HeadUnit (QFIL, Fastboot, USB update) for benches & vehicles at on-site support at customer location in Farmington Hills, MI
  • PA Writing process for customer sample registration procedure
  • Communication and follow-up with HQ developers for each issue
  • Taking logs as requested by customer
  • Reproducibility test and support customer for technical issues
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 6+ Months related experience
  • Strong commitment to quality and attention to detail
  • Desire to learn constantly and dive into new areas with unfamiliar technologies
  • Ability to work late/early hours for meetings with international contacts
  • Ability to drive a test vehicle including trips international (Ex: US/Canada/Mexico)
  • Ability to:
    • Lift/carry benches weighing up to 25lbs to setup workstation
    • Sit while driving/testing the vehicles for up to 3 hours at a time
    • Interact with display/center controller/steering wheel while driving or while stationary testing
  • Travel up to 40% (domestic and international) 

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree - Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
  • Bilingual - Korean & English
  • Familiarity with CAN tools (i.e. Vector CANalyzer, CANoe, etc.)
  • Experience using JIRA issue tracking software
