Job description

Overview: 

The SCHEELS Store Development Project Manager will work closely with Store Development, Campus Teams, and SCHEELS stores to bring vendor initiatives, branding, and assets to life in a ‘best in class’ way. This position requires a blend of influence and disciplined project management, to guide cross-functional teams through opportunities and initiatives.  

Responsibilities: 

  • Own the systems and processes associated with executing vendor & Scheels Campus initiatives, across Scheels
  • Collaborate with Scheels Campus teams and stores to execute ‘best in class’ volume fixtures & displays to ensure a timely delivery to stores, merchandising standards are met, proof of performance is provided, and on-time installation
  • Identify new areas of opportunities to partner with vendors, collaborating with the Vendor Relations team on the value, testing, and funding needed to execute
  • Work across all Campus teams to ensure we’re executing all initiatives and reallocating investments as needed
  • Work with all necessary teams to ensure deadlines are hit and designs are ‘best in class’ across all mediums, while partnering with the In-store Display team to bring appropriate vendor imagery and video content to life throughout vendor projects
  • Execute recaps surrounding vendor initiatives, providing areas of wins and opportunities to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Assist in Store Development team communication across all Scheels markets, to ensure buy-in and consistency among all stores
  • Strong project management skills and ability to meet all project deadlines, with a focus on timely execution and strict budget adherence
  • Ability to travel as needed, less than 10% of total work
  • Associates must be flexible to work between 6am – 6pm, Monday through Friday with nights and weekends as needed, and work an average of 50+ hours per week
  • Work on fixture requests and major projects for existing stores, serving as a liaison for stores
  • Check emails & voicemails daily with prompt follow up with customers, vendors and associates.
  • Coordinate with external contractors and architects on store development projects
  • Lead space planning and fixture design, staying current on industry trends and supplier skill sets.
  • Review pricing and negotiate with vendors to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality
  • Execute project plans with meticulous attention to detail, adapting to changing requirements as needed
  • Maintain high standards for store crews, fostering a culture of excellence and prompt communication

Education & Experience:

  • The ideal candidate will have an Associate's degree in Business, Design, Marketing, or a related field preferred; and/or 1-2 years of experience. 
  • The Ideal candidate will be proficient in Google Workspace and have entry-level experience in BlueBeam and AutoCAD.

Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements:

Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation
