We are seeking a Franchise Development Project Manager who will own and manage the end-to-end process of opening new franchise stores. This role is responsible for guiding franchisees through site selection, design, construction, procurement, and close-out, ensuring each location meets Five Iron’s brand standards before transitioning to the Operations team. This person will work closely with Five Iron’s Development team that specializes in design and construction, so they do not need to be a subject matter expert but have a general understanding. They will also interface with other departments such as tech, culinary, marketing, etc. to ensure the franchisee is fully set up for success.

This role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong leadership, and the ability to hold multiple stakeholders accountable while maintaining polished, professional communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary project lead for franchise openings from site selection through turnover to Operations
  • Manage project timelines and deliverables across multiple active franchise locations
  • Coordinate with franchisees, architects, contractors, vendors, and internal teams
  • Lead weekly status meetings with franchise groups and internal stakeholders
  • Track progress and proactively identify and resolve risks, delays, and issues
  • Ensure strict adherence to Five Iron design, construction, and brand standards
  • Ensure the corporate team approves plans, materials, and procurement selections
  • Manage procurement and vendor coordination to ensure consistency
  • Maintain detailed project documentation and reporting
  • Professionally represent Five Iron in all written and verbal communications
  • Confidently and diplomatically push back when franchisees propose deviations from established standards

Qualifications & Skills

General Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Project Management, Business, or related field (preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in project management, construction management, franchise development, or multi-unit retail/hospitality development ideally as a new store opening project manager
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and consistently deliver timely, effective results.
  • Self-starter with a continuous improvement mindset; motivated to improve existing workflows and systems.
  • Strong organization, communication, and problem-solving skills; comfortable pushing projects forward amid ambiguity.
  • Proven experience managing multiple complex projects simultaneously
  • Some understanding of design, construction, and build-out processes
  • Experience working with franchisees or multi-unit operators strongly preferred
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
  • Strong leadership presence and ability to run structured meetings
  • Highly polished written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to balance collaboration with firm enforcement of brand standards
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
