Are you a Software or IT Professional looking for work-life balance with an established organization? The Idaho State Tax Commission- Property Tax team is seeking an IT Software Engineer I. The selected candidate will collaborate with project stakeholders, team members, external partners and vendors on sophisticated tax revenue administration software issues and development.
The successful candidate will have experience with object-oriented programming and SQL, with good communication and problem-solving skills, and the ability to prioritize multiple assigned tasks in the same time period while meeting specified timelines in a group setting.
This position is located at the Boise Office in the Chinden Campus located at 11321 West Chinden Blvd, Building 2. The selected candidate must report to this location; hybrid telecommuting may be considered after completion of a 6 month probationary period and all required training.
Responsibilities:
    • Develop, test, and implement new application programs and enhancements (experience using Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio, Visual Studio, VB.net, and C# would be beneficial).
    • Provide end user support
    • Research available tools and technologies to determine alternative technology solutions
    • Coordinate resolution of problems with operational system
    • Confer with users to analyze, develop, and maintain programs

    Minimum Qualifications:
    • Good knowledge of multiple programming languages and software development tool suites (Typically gained by one college or vocational-level course directly related to one programming language and software development tool suites AND 6 months of work experience using programming languages and software development tools OR one year of work experience using programming languages and software development tools)
    • Good knowledge of software development processes and software testing practices (Typically gained by valid IT certification in software testing and development OR at least 1 year of work experience testing and developing software)
    • Experience creating, interpreting and documenting user requirements (Typically gained by at least 1 year of work experience creating, interpreting, and documenting user requirements on at least 1 development project)
    • Experience testing and deploying production systems (Typically gained by at least 1 year of work experience testing and deploying systems)

    Preferred Qualifications
    โ€ข Demonstrated experience using SAP Crystal Reports and MSSQL/MYSQL Database Management.
